Report of the 4^th Joint EFLM-UEMS Congress
Warsaw, Poland
September 21-24, 2016

The 4th Joint EFLM-UEMS Congress was held from September 21^st to 24^th, 2016 in Warsaw, Poland. The conference was very well organized by Professor G. Odrowaz-Sypniewska (Congress President) and Professor E. Wieland (Chair Scientific Committee). More than 450 scientists and physicians attended the congress. The program covered a large range of clinically important emerging topics in laboratory medicine, focusing on the clinical interface between the laboratory and clinical practice. The WASPaLM session was dedicated to “Molecular Diagnostics in Cancer Management” (Chairs: Michael Oellerich, DE, and Dobrin Svinarov, BG).

The following topics were presented:

Professor Oellerich was conferred the fellowship of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia (FAMM) at the International Congress of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine (ICPaLM) in Kuala Lumpur on August 28, 2014.

Professor Oellerich has received the membership of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Arts (BASA), the Honorary Diploma was awarded in November 2013 in Sofia.
